The BACKYARD BOOM is intended to kick-start the summer lax season in SoCal with a 1 day tournament packed with tons of LAX in a FUN/BACKYARD/COMMUNITY/BBQ environment.

Our mission is to make sure we MAXIMIZE EVERY SECOND spent on the field. Refs, coaches, teams should all be ready to move quickly during each game to keep pace FAST + girls/teams/coaches having a BLAST! 

MAXIMUM PLAY TIME :: So much time is lost in games with constant whistles, walking back to the circle after goals, setting up the draw, chasing out of bounds balls, subbing between goals, etc. We aim to maximize every second spent on the field. The refs will help manage the pace of the game with limited whistles (yet still keeping game safe), substitutions will be on the fly, goalies will clear the ball after goals are scored, and there will be no time-outs. Each game is 18 full minutes of PLAYING LAX! 

COACHING STYLE :: Format allows for a ton of creativity + strategic opportunities. As you navigate the different game formats, field structures, and # of players on the field, coaches will have a ton of opportunities to try new ideas + concepts in different settings. 

SUBBING :: Everything is on the fly. There will be 1 mid-game draw on games to help with subbing. (Occurs at 1st goal scored between 8-10minutes - if no goal scored, after 10minutes refs blow whistle for time-out at 1st dead-ball opportunity.

ENDURANCE :: This is about stretching your game. Teams will compete in 7 games in 1 day in a fast-pace format. Endurance is a must! 

FUN :: In between games, visit the tents/vendors set-up for players to interact, eat, face-painting, etc.

What is Online Check-in?

Online Check-in eliminates the need for your team to show up in person before your first game by allowing you to complete the check-in process online. You will be required to upload .pdf files or images to the secure sincSports cloud. The event will determine which documents are required.

There is a $20 non-refundable fee.

FORMAT

All games will be 18 minutes long (starting every 20 minutes). Teams will rotate through all fields, getting a chance to play in each game style. 

Draw to start the game, draw @ 1st goal scored during the 8-10min mark (best chance to sub). If no goal is scored between 8-10mins than refs call a time-out at next dead-ball situation. All goalie clears for rest of game. Subbing on fly except for at 8min goal/dead ball.
