Brenna Gallagher has been named the head women's lacrosse coach at Misericordia University. Gallagher spent the 2017 season as the graduate assistant coach at Misericordia. The Cougars set a school record for wins at 14-5 and made their third straight appearance in the MAC Freedom championship game. Misericordia also qualified for the ECAC Championships for the third consecutive season and advanced to the title game.A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Gallagher was a four-year starter as a defender.As a senior, she was named first-team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, All-South Region and second-team All-American. The Crimson Hawks finished 13-6 and reached the PSAC semifinals for the third time in four years. She led the team with 53 ground balls. She ranks first in school history in ground balls.Gallagher earned her bachelor's degrees in child development and family relations and sociology and human services from IUP. Emani Byrd has been named the Graduate Assistant Coach at Misericordia University for the 2016-2017. A native of Maryland, Byrd was a four year starter at Frostburg University. She served as team captain as a junior and senior and was an All-Conference Player.
