Suzanne Isidor

Suzanne Isidor, a former letter winner and head coach at Penn State University, became the fifth UC Davis head women’s lacrosse coach in the program’s varsity era on August 24, 2017, and enters her seventh year at the helm of the Aggies in 2024.


In June of 2023, Isidor inked a five-year contract extension that will keep her in Davis through the 2028 season as she was chosen to lead the Aggies into the Pac-12 era.


From 2017 to 2021, the three-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Coach of the Year (2018, 2019, and 2021) has continued to make strides with the program, guiding UC Davis to a 32-21 overall record and a perfect 6-0 record in league play. The Aggies saw upticks in the win column every season since her arrival, improving from six victories in 2017, eight wins in her debut season, and nine more in 2019.


After finishing 3-3 through six contests — including wins over Pacific-12 Conference rivals California and Oregon, as well as an upset of a Georgetown program that was ranked as high as No. 19 in the preseason coaches polls — before the COVID-19 pandemic cut the year short in 2020, UC Davis embarked on one of its best seasons in the spring of 2021.


The Aggies wrapped up the year with a 12-4 overall record and laid claim to their first MPSF Championship in school history, defeating Fresno State by the score of 23-13. The 12 victories were the most since the 2004 squad finished 12-5 overall, while the four straight campaigns with a better than .500 record marks the longest such stretch since 11 straight years from 1997-2007.


All told during her tenure, 12 student-athletes have gone on to earn a total of 18 All-MPSF honors — including two-time MPSF Player of the Year Taylor Cuenin (2018-19) and 2021 league player of the year Maddie Myers.


The Aggies have accomplished themselves in the classroom, as well, earning a total of 57 MPSF All-Academic Team honors during Isidor’s four years, including a record of 20 following the 2021 campaign. In addition, six of her student-athletes were named to the IWLCA’s Academic Honor Squad — the most for the program since 1997 — and earned the organization’s team academic award for only the second time in the history of the program, joining the 2015 team.


Before taking over the Aggie helm, Isidor directed the Davis Lacrosse Association from 2012 to 2017 and served as a consultant for Tenacity Lacrosse Club. However, she was best known in the collegiate circles for her tenures at Drew University (1996-2000) and Penn State (2000-2010), where she combined for a 140-101 NCAA coaching record.


Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Isidor (formerly Suzanne Weinberg) played four years for the Nittany Lions from 1992-95, helping her team to three NCAA postseason appearances including a semifinal finish as a senior co-captain. She garnered IWLCA Regional All-America (now known as IWLCA All-Region) distinction in that final season, then began her coaching career a year later as an assistant at her alma mater. One year later, Isidor received the opportunity to take over as head coach at Drew.


In four seasons in the Garden State, Isidor guided the Rangers to a combined 56-15 record, four straight Middle Atlantic Conference championships plus an NCAA Division III tournament berth in 2000. She won a pair of MAC Coach of the Year awards, plus a South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year nod in 1997. Isidor mentored six All-Americans during her stint at Drew, including three-time honoree Karen Townsend.


Then in 2001, she made her return to Happy Valley, this time as the head coach. Isidor served 10 seasons at the Penn State helm, compiling an 84-86 record and leading the program to NCAA tournament appear-ances in 2001 and 2005. Isidor also chaired the Tewaaraton Award and IWLCA All-Region selection committees, served on the NCAA Regional Ranking Committee, and chaired Penn State’s Athletic Council for Diversity and Inclusion.


Although her official affiliation with UC Davis began in the fall of 2017, Isidor was no stranger to the university. Her husband, Dan, joined the UC Davis staff in 2012 as an assistant dean with the College of Biological Sciences, and more recently assumed the post of executive director of principal gifts for the Development & Alumni Relations office. Suzanne continued to coach upon her arrival in Davis, first with the DLA then with Tenacity Lacrosse Club.

Maggie Schneidereith

Recent Johns Hopkins graduate Maggie Schneidereith enters her first season as an assistant coach with the UC Davis women's lacrosse program in 2021-22.


"Maggie had a phenomenal playing career at Johns Hopkins and is ready to begin her college coaching career on the west coast," Isidor said. "She brings a tremendous amount of lacrosse knowledge and is going to be a great asset to our program. I can't wait for Maggie to get to Davis and start working with our team."


A five-year letter winner on the attack for the Blue Jays from 2016-21, Schneidereith wrapped up her collegiate career ranked third on the team with 46 points in 15 matches in 2021, finishing with 27 goals and 19 assists on 64 shots. A Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten selection, Schneidereith helped Johns Hopkins to a 2021 NCAA Tournament berth and a trip to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals.


During the year, Schneidereith was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week on April 27, after combining for nine goals, three assists, and two ground balls in back-to-back wins over nationally ranked Penn State and Michigan.


She was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and was a Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch prior to the start of the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, finishing with 17 goals, eight assists, nine ground balls, and three caused turnovers, in seven starts.


That came on the heels of a 2019 campaign that saw her earn All-Big Ten and IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region first team honors, ending the year with 48 goals, 29 assists, 18 ground balls, and seven caused turnovers to lead the team in scoring. Schneidereith led the Big ten in assists and assists per game (1.61) that season, while finishing second in points per game (4.28) and third in goals per game (2.67), while helping the Blue Jays to an NCAA Tournament appearance.


As a sophomore in 2018, she finished with 39 goals, 18 assists, and 20 ground balls, in 19 matches, helping Johns Hopkins to another NCAA Tournament berth, ranking second on the team in goals, assists, and points (57), and started all 18 games as a freshman with the Blue Jays in 2017, finishing with 20 goals, 24 assists, and 22 ground balls, setting a new school record for assists by a freshman while leading the team in that category and standing second in points (44).


Schneidereith was voted team captain as a senior and also served as the team's representative on Johns Hopkins' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She was also a member of the Blue Jays LEAD organization, leading conversations about effective communication, decision making, conflict resolution, and problem solving.


She has been a coach at the Tucker Lacrosse Camps during her time at Johns Hopkins, helping instruct youth through high school lacrosse players, while also helping design and implement practice plans and skill sessions.


The Lutherville, Maryland, native prepped at Towson High School, where she totaled 110 goals and 81 assists over her final three prep seasons, while also playing basketball and soccer. She was twice named the Towson Times Athlete of the Year, was a three-time all-county first team selection, and was named an honorable mention All-American as a senior.


Schneidereith graduated in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a minor in marketing & communications and entrepreneurship & management, and is currently pursuing her master's in communication through Johns Hopkins.

Annie Carroll

Former Connecticut and Temple goalie Annie Carroll will join Head Coach Suzanne Isidor's staff as an assistant coach, Isidor announced Wednesday. Carroll will officially begin July 11.


"Annie (Carroll) is a wonderful addition to the Aggie family," Isidor said. "She brings great experience as a player and is ready to hit the ground running in her college coaching career. She is going to be a fantastic mentor for our student-athletes and I look forward to working with her."


Carroll played four years at Connecticut, appearing in 14 games with three starts from 2017-2021 with the Huskies. She served as a member of the team leadership council her senior year, helping lead Connecticut to the NCAA Tournament and a Big East Championship appearance. Carroll was also an SAAC representative at UConn from 2019-2021.


She played a fifth season at Temple in 2022, earning a master's in higher education. She started all 17 games for the Owls and earned AAC All-Conference Second Team honors after going 10-5 and making 125 saves.


"I am incredibly excited to be joining the UC Davis coaching staff!" said Carroll. "I am thrilled to be a part of the Aggie family and look forward to working alongside talented coaches and players."


She was named IWLCA and AAC Player of the Week on Feb. 15, 2022 for leading the Owls to a 16-5 win over Army. She had 12 saves against 15 shots on goal in her first start for Temple and her .800 save percentage was the highest single-game mark since Temple began tracking the stat in 2010.


One of Carroll's wins in 2022 came against UC Davis as she made six saves against the Aggies on Mar. 20 in Philadelphia to help the Owls to an 11-6 win.


During the fall of 2021, Carroll interned with the Temple coaching staff to gain office experience involved in running a Division I program. For the past two years she's been a coach for NXT Lacrosse Club, planning practices and coaching both field players and goalies. She also created the curriculum and goalie instruction for the entire club and assisted with player tryouts, skill evaluations, and camps.


In addition to her role with NXT Lacrosse, Carroll began coaching for Foundation Lacrosse in the fall of 2021 and co-directed weekly training sessions for youth, middle, and high school goalies.
