Heather Faasse

Heather Faasse is set to begin her second season as head coach of the women's lacrosse program in 2023-24.

Her first season as head coach in 2023 saw the team finish with four wins, the most wins since the 2019 season. The team qualified for the conference tournament for the first time since 2019 and won a conference tournament game for the first time since the 2019 season.

Prior to Tennessee Wesleyan, Faasse worked on the coaching staff for both the women's soccer program and women's lacrosse programs at Norwich University. Joining Norwich in January 2017 as an assistant coach for both women's soccer and women's lacrosse, Faasse was promoted to interim head women's lacrosse coach on January 26, 2018 season. That following May, Faasse had the interim title removed from her title for the women's lacrosse program while at the same time being elevated to the head coach position for the women's soccer program. Faasse ran both programs from 2018-2021 and served as only head women's soccer coach through the 2022 season.

In her interim season as women's lacrosse coach, Faasse led the program to the best conference record since the 2014 season with the team's five conference wins that season. As the leader of the women's soccer program, Faasse led the program to its best start in program history to start the 2018 season with a six-game winning streak to start the year. The team also finished with its highest win total since the 2011 season.

Faasse coached three NCAA Academic All-Americans and Faasse took the lead role in organizing the Norwich's lacrosse program's inaugural One Love Day that took place in March 2019. Faasse also helped organize a 5K run and t-shirt fundraiser that raised awareness for relationship violence. Faasse, along with Norwich's tennis coach, presented a check for $2,000 to Circle, a local organization focused on educating about and preventing domestic violence, while offering support to victims in Washington County, Vt.

Though Faasse comes to TWU from Norwich University in Vermont, the coach has former Tennessee roots. Before coaching at Norwich, Faassee was the head soccer and lacrosse coach at Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, Tenn. Faasee mentored and trained middle and upper school student-athletes in their respective sports to be their best and grow academically and athletically. Along with her work at the Girls Preparatory School, Faasse was a co-founder of the Lookout Mountain Football Club in Lookout Mountain, Ga. Faasse trained and mentored primary school student-athletes with the Lookout Mountain Football Club. Her resume also includes work as a trainer with Rio40, an organization that implemented small-group sessions to improve skills.

Faasse graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and graduated with honors in 2015. A member of the women's soccer and track programs for the Chargers, she was an active participant with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She graduated with her Master's degree in Organizational Leadership in 2021 from Norwich University and is currently working on a Doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of the Cumberlands.

Playing in 86 career games, she helped the Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team win back-to-back North Atlantic Conference championships in 2013 and 2014, qualifying for the NCAA Division III tournament in the process. Named her team's Most Valuable Player while earning placement on the NAC All-Tournament Team in 2014, she has also played semi-pro soccer for the Chattanooga Football Club.
