Karen Shaddock

Karen Shaddock is in her sixth season as the head coach of the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse team after spending one year as an assistant coach at Williams College and two seasons as the head coach of Lycoming College. Additionally, Shaddock has made stops as the head coach at Medaille College and the assistant coach at Rochester Institute of Technology and holds an overall career coaching record of 63-42 heading into the 2021 season.


In her first five seasons with the Ducks, Shaddock has led Stevens to the conference Tournament Championship game four three (2019, 2022, 2023). She has also coached six conference players of the year, won the 2023 MAC Freedom Coach of the Year, and helped Bednarski win the 2020 Inside Lacrosse DiIII National Player of the Year Award.

Maddie Buechli

Maddie Buechli enters her first on the bench for the Ducks in the 2023 season after previously serving on the staff at Montclair High School, where she helped the program reach the county championship.


Buechli enters the collegiate coaching ranks after completing her undergraduate studies at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where she was a three-year starting defender. Prior to her time at St. Thomas Aquinas, the West Nyack, New York native played at Central Connecticut State University.


She earned her bachelor's degree from STAC in communications focused public relations. While an undergraduate, Buechli was a communications specialist intern at Rockland County Solid Waste Management Authority, where she developed informational videos for elementary school students about the importance of recycling.

Gene Peluso

Gene Peluso is in his 15th season as the head coach of the Stevens men’s lacrosse team and begins the 2024 season with a 183-65 record in his tenure with the Ducks. He is the winningest coach in program history.


Peluso has led the Ducks to six NCAA Tournament Appearances, the MAC Freedom Tournament and regular season title each of the last three seasons, a pair of Empire 8 Conference Tournament Championships and four Empire 8 Regular Season titles. Under Peluso's leadership, the Ducks, the Ducks have won at least one NCAA game in seven trips to the national tournament.


Additionally, Peluso has coached a total of 49 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Americans and 33 USILA Academic All-Americans. A three-time MAC Freedom Coach of the Year, Peluso also earned Empire 8 Coach of the Year honors four times and was named the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2018.


In his career, Peluso has compiled an overall record of 312-144 as a head coach heading into the 2024 campaign and he enters the 2024 season fifth in career victories among all active Division III men's lacrosse coaches.
