Jenny Cavey

Jenny Cavey enters her eighth season as head women's lacrosse coach at Shepherd after taking over the head coaching duties in 2016.


Shepherd recorded a 5-12 overall mark in 2023. Additionally, Kaiya Edwards and Sydney Witmer garnered Second Team All-PSAC East accolades


The Rams posted a 4-6 overall mark with a 3-6 record in PSAC action in 2021. Shepherd posted its first-ever win over Lock Haven with a 12-11 victory. The Rams scored seven unanswered goals in the win. Paige Alexander gained Second Team All-PSAC East honors.


Shepherd posted a 3-2 overall mark in 2020 in a season shortened due to the coronavirus outbreak.


Cavey gained MEC Coach of the Year honors in 2019 as she led the Rams to an 11-7 overall mark with an 8-2 record in conference play. Shepherd qualified for the MEC Tournament for the fifth consecutive season and boasted both the MEC Offensive Player of the Year (Lillian Funke) and MEC Defensive Player of the Year (Lyric Feingold-Conaway).


Shepherd posted an 8-7 overall mark with a 3-2 record in MEC play in 2018. The Rams advanced to the MEC Tournament title game for the fourth consecutive year.


Cavey led the Rams to a 9-9 overall mark in 2016 with a 5-1 record in conference play. The Rams captured the Mountain East Conference Tournament title with victories over UVa-Wise (15-9) and regular season champion Wheeling Jesuit (17-10).


Cavey, a 2014 Shepherd graduate, came back to Shepherd after serving as an assistant coach at Hood College and McDaniel College.


Cavey was a two-time team captain who played at Shepherd from 2011-14. She started every game for the Rams over her final three seasons. The midfielder tallied 51 goals and 28 assists for 79 points for her career. Also a standout in the classroom, Cavey garnered IWLCA, WVIAC, and D2 ADA academic honors.
