Scott Bladen

Scott Bladen was named head coach in October 2018. He previously was as an assistant coach with the men’s lacrosse program for four years. Coach Bladen has been instrumental in the development of the men's program, serving as both offensive and defensive coordinator over the past four seasons. Coach Bladen also played a very important role in recruiting for the WildCats.

Previously, Coach Bladen served as the head coach of the Forest Lacrosse Club varsity high school boys' program from 2011-12. During his two year tenure with FLC, the team compiled a record of 25-8, including a program best 13-2 mark in 2012 which culminated with the team’s first birth in the Virginia High School Club State Championship Tournament.

Scott has also been involved with the Forest Youth Athletic Association’s youth lacrosse program as well as the Lynchburg Lumberjacks travel lacrosse teams for many years.

A native of Maryland, Scott played lacrosse at North Caroline High School in Ridgely, Md.

Bladen is a graduate of Liberty University with degrees in both Criminal Justice and Interdisciplinary Studies. He and his wife Jamie currently reside in Lynchburg with their son Nathan.

Kathy Butler

Following the conclusion of her playing career this past spring, Kathy Butler joined head coach Scott Bladen's staff this fall. Butler was a four-year member of the lacrosse team at Randolph where he played in 53 games totaling 39 groundballs, 24 caused turnovers, three goals, and one assist.

Butler graduated in May 2019 with a degree in Sports and Exercise Studies. She has also been a club lacrosse coach with Virginia United for two years.

Ava Rupert

Rupert was most recently the head coach at Jefferson Forest High school from 2015-2019. Her record there was 49-17 with her teams winning three conference championships and advancing to three VHSL Region semifinals. Rupert was a three-time Coach of the Year. She also helped start the girl’s lacrosse programs at Forest Youth Athletic Association in 2008. Rupert has also been a head coach at Worcester Prep School and Stephen Decatur High School in Berlin, MD, Forest Lacrosse Club, and Jefferson Forest High School Club Lacrosse.

A 1987 graduate of Salisbury State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies, Rupert played lacrosse and field hockey where she was a member of the 1986 NCAA National Championship team.

Lindsey McNamara

McNamara played and started on defense for four years at Liberty University. A captain in her senior season of 2018, she was a second-team All-Conference selection in the Big South. She is second on the career list in caused turnovers (83) and starts (72).

The Orlando, Florida native graduated with a degree in Project Management and Entrepreneurship from Liberty and is currently pursuing her MBA.
