ROCHESTER, NY – Executive Director for Athletics at RIT, Lou Spiotti Jr., announced the appointment of Erin Wagner as Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, effective Nov. 1.
"We are thrilled to have Erin Wagner join our team," said Spiotti. "She brings a great deal of expertise, drive and determination as well as a strong playing background to the role of Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at RIT. We are confident that she will bring our program to the next level in every respect and help us to open an exciting new chapter in Tiger Lacrosse."
Prior to RIT, Wagner was an assistant coach at St. John. Fisher College from 2018-19, helping the Cardinals to the 2019 Empire 8 title and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. She was an assistant at Ithaca College from 2015-2018 and at The College at Brockport from 2013-15.
"I would like to thank Jeff Siegel, Lou Spiotti and the rest of the search committee for affording me the opportunity to lead the Women's Lacrosse program at RIT," said Wagner. "I am honored to become a Tiger and join the incredible staff who have been so welcoming thus far."
Wagner is a 2011 graduate of Div. II Limestone College. While at Limestone, Wagner was a three-time IWLCA 2nd Team All-American selection. She was voted a team captain in 2010 and 2011, helping Limestone to four appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament, including a to the National Championship Game in 2011.
She graduated from Limestone with a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing in 2011 and earned a Master in Physical Education from The College at Brockport in 2015
"I am looking forward to getting to know the team and beyond excited to start the 2020 season," said Wagner. "I feel this team has so much potential and I can't wait to start a new chapter in RIT Women's Lacrosse."
