Sarah Connally

Sarah Connally is entering her 6th season as the Head Coach of the Women’s Lacrosse team at the University of Northwestern in 2024. Connally is the 2nd coach in program history.

Coach Connally has had a good start to her career leading the UNW Women’s Lacrosse team. In her first season at the helm, 2019, she had a winning record winning 8 games which is the 2nd highest single season total in program history.

Coach Connally saw more success in 2021. The Eagles finished over .500 for a second time in Connally’s tenure, and made their first appearance in the Conference Championship game. UNW earned that Championship game birth with one of the most dramatic wins in program history. The Eagles traveled to downtown Minneapolis to play the higher seeded Augsburg University. The match went into overtime and junior Samantha Wiebold scored the game winning goal with four seconds remaining.

Coach Connally gained a lot of experience coaching lacrosse prior to coming to Northwestern. The 2009 graduate of Liberty University got her coaching start at McNeil High School in Austin, Texas. She was the head coach from 2009-2014, and led her team to a district runner-up finish in 2014. Connally was slected to lead the 2012 Team Texas High School National team. She then moved to the college ranks where she coached the University of Texas Longhorns club team for seven seasons. At Texas, she progressed from Goalie Coach to Assistant Coach and then to Head Coach where she helped lead the team to six team state championships, seven top-twenty ranked seasons and five top-ten finishes. Additionally, she produced a Player of the Year (2012), Defender of the Year (2013 and 2015), Rookie of the Year (2015), and Midfielder of the Year (2016).

Coach Connally resides in Roseville with her husband Jake and their two dogs.

This site helped me establish communications with several colleges. The ability to contact colleges that interested me and research information about them was very helpful.
