Diana Schmitt

Diana Schmitt, a graduate assistant coach at Springfield for two seasons and the assistant coach at Nazareth since 2022, was named hte head coach of the Golden Flyers at the end of the 2023 season.


A native Westbury, N.Y., Schmitt played collegiate lacrosse at Division II Mercyhurst, where she was named the team's Rookie of the Year for 2016 and was team captain in 2018 and 2019. Schmitt graduated from Mercyhurst with a degree in Psychology and earned a Master's degree from Springfield in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Administration.


At Springfield, both the 2020 and 2021 seasons were cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Schmitt was able to teach classes in physical education while adhering to her coaching duties. Schmitt also has experience coaching at several camps and clinics.

Emma States

Emma States joined the Nazareth coaching staff at the start of the 2023-24 academic year.

One of the most prolific scorers to ever wear the Purple and Gold, States graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences.

At attack, States delivered 216 career points on 160 goals and 56 assists. Her 216 career points and 160 goals both rank fifth all-time at Nazareth.

In 2023, States delivered 53 goals and 20 assists en route to being named the Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Year. She was named First Team All-Empire 8 three times and was a two-time IWLCA All-Region selection.

She was also a multiple award recipient on the IWLCA All-Academic Team.

A native of Baldwinsville, NY States was awarded Nazareth’s Kidera Scholar Athlete winner in 2023 for her work in the classroom, leadership, and career accolades.

During her tenure, she helped the Golden Flyers appear in three-straight Empire 8 Championship games.
