Lauren Scott

Lauren Scott joined the Meredith College athletics staff in spring of 2012 as the first head women's lacrosse coach. Under Scott’s leadership the Avenging Angels program has earned nine consecutive conference tournament championships, seven consecutive regular season championships, six conference Rookie of the Year awards, six Player of the Year honors, as well as six Coach of the Year selections. The 2016 team secured a place in NCAA Division III history as the National Scoring Offense Statistical Champion, and the 2019 squad followed as the national leader with a 0.566 shot percentage. She led the program to only their second NCAA Tournament win over Washington & Jefferson 16-11 last season.


On March 8, 2020 Scott collected her 100th victory as head coach of the Avenging Angels. Her team posted a 3-4 overall record early in the season with a traditionally difficult opponent roster, and set the tone quickly with a 2-0 record within the USA South. The pandemic forced an early end to the 2020 season but not before her team made an appearance on The Price Is Right as part of their spring break trip to California.


Scott's 2019 graduates departed Meredith with an undefeated USA South career record, four conference tournament and regular season championships, four NCAA appearances, and four USA South Women's Lacrosse Sportsmanship Awards. Holly Hite collected her second All-American honor after being named the USA South Player of the Year, alongside Coach of the Year Scott.


MC Lax captured the program's first-ever NCAA tournament win in May 2018 defeating the United States Merchant Marine Academy to advance to a second round pairing with Salisbury University. The Avenging Angels earned the USA South Regular Season title and defended the Tournament Championship to earn the automatic qualifier. Three-time conference POY Carlee Joseph earned the coveted USA South Don Scalf Female Athlete of the Year honor and went on to be named the Division III Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipient. Holly Hite was named a third team All-American and both players garnered All-Region first team honors. Cameron Ruffin joined Joseph as a member of the Division III Senior All-Start team.


The 2017 Avenging Angels captured the USA South Regular Season and Tournament Championship titles, advancing to the NCAA tournament for the fourth consecutive season. Carlee Joseph earned her second Conference Player of the Year honor and was named All-Chesapeake Region alongside Holly Hite. She also earned the program's first CoSida Academic All-District® selection and joined Jennifer Halvorson and Cameron Ruffin on the IWLCA Division III Honor Roll. The team collected the program's third IWLCA Honor Squad recognition as well.


In 2016 Meredith lacrosse secured the USA South Regular Season crown for the first time with an undefeated league record and earned a number one ranking in the NCAA Division III Mid-South Region. The Angels’ only regular season loss came at the hands of nationally ranked Mary Washington.


In both 2014 and 2015, the Avenging Angels dropped just one conference match to finish the USA South regular season in second place but went on to upset the top seed to claim a tournament championship and the NCAA Division III automatic bid.


After earning league Rookie of the Year honors, Joseph followed in Katie Burnet’s footsteps as last spring’s Player of the Year and joined Burnet on the Chesapeake All-Region team. Burnet, who concluded her collegiate career in 2016, earned the program’s first All-Region nod in 2014 and set two USA South records. Last spring Julie Capretti became the third Angel to earn league Rookie of the Year.


Since Meredith lacrosse began, Scott's players have earned 48 All-Conference selections and 38 All-Tournament honors, including Sarah Arbes, Hite, Joseph, and Burnet as Tournament Most Valuable Players. Eighty-six of Scott’s players have garnered USA South All-Academic honors.


Scott hails from Danbury (Conn.) High School where she served as the girl’s varsity lacrosse coach since 2004. She earned Connecticut Class L Coach of the Year honors during her final season with the Hatters. In just five seasons, Scott took the girl’s lacrosse program from a season record of 2-14 in 2003 to boast a Division II State Championship title. Along with her team’s success, Scott enjoyed several accolades as well. She was named the Connecticut Division II Girl’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year, the FCIAC Coach of the Year and the Newstimes Coach of the Year.


She also earned official citations from the Connecticut General Assembly for effective leadership as Danbury’s head lacrosse coach in 2008 and team recognition from Connecticut Governor Jody Rell for implementing a "together" mentality for Danbury girl’s lacrosse. She held honors as the 2006 Newstimes Coach of the Year. In addition to her tenure at Danbury, Scott also served as a Connecticut Lighting premier coach for two seasons and as a volunteer assistant at her alma mater, Western Connecticut State University in 2004.


An advocate for the sport of lacrosse and as outreach to her community, Scott served seven years as the girl’s director of Nutmeg Sports “West” for girl’s lacrosse. In addition, she originated and directed Community Lacrosse, a self-run and organized lacrosse camp for the greater-Danbury area.


Scott lettered four seasons of women’s lacrosse for Western Connecticut State University. During her career with the Colonials, she played multiple positions and set school records in scoring, ground balls, caused turnover and points in a career and season. She sits atop the Western Connecticut State’s record book in points in a season with 64 points scored in 2003. Scott also remains in the top four for goals in a season and points in a career. She earned all-conference accolades three times while with the Colonials and turned in Little East Conference Player of the Week honors twice.


Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Western Connecticut State and also holds a teaching certificate and minor in Exercise Science from Southern Connecticut State University.

Hannah Rosen

In her first season in the assistant role, Rosen helped the Angels earn another USA South Regular Season and Tournament Title. She also coached the Angels goalie to First Team All-Tournament.


Graduated from Radford University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Started the inaugural program for the Women's Lacrosse program in 2015. Position: Goalie
