Emily Cabrera

Cabrera’s first season at the helm brought the team to an overall record of 10-6, advancing all the way to the semi-finals of the NAIA National Tournament.

Cabrera was promoted to Head Coach during the Summer of 2022.

Emily Cabrera as a Graduate Assistant and Assistant Coach, played a pivotal role in helping the team climb from receiving votes in the national poll to a third-place ranking in the NAIA. She focused on fine tuning the defensive unit and goalies to make them a top contender in the nation, averaging 9 goals allowed per game. Cabrera graduated with her Master’s degree in Sport Health Science in Winter 2021 from Life U.

Cabrera has experience coaching Florida Storm Club Lacrosse, Walton Junior Lacrosse, North Paulding and Hillgrove High School Fall Teams, while also directing year-round lacrosse camps and clinics in the Atlanta area. She also works one on one with local goalies to help them improve their game in order to transition from high school to college level lacrosse.

Cabrera, a native from South Florida, graduated with a degree in Fitness and Sport Management from the University of the Cumberlands in Spring 2019. At UC, Cabrera was part of the inaugural women’s lacrosse team in 2015 where she helped to propel their new program into the top 3 in the NAIA. Playing goalie for UC, she had over 200 career saves and while there, Cabrera took part in the 2018 AAC championship team, as well as the MSC championship team in 2019.

I have used the Soccer in College site for 8 years, and it has helped me keep my personal and soccer information up to date, and has helped be track college contacts and interest. I think the site helped me prepare for college offers, and helped me determine that I wanted to play for UNC.
