Emma Kuehl

Kuehl is entering her first season as Blue Devils Head Coach, following two seasons on the sideline as an assistant to her predecessor, now-Athletic Director Mary Ann Meltzer, who appointed Kuehl to the position.


Kuehl comes from Detroit Country Day School, where she was the Head Coach for the Bees. Emma leaves with a 66-7 record at Country Day and an MHSAA State Championship in Girls Lacrosse in 2023 and Runner-Up in 2022. She was the 2021 MWLCA Division Two Coach of the Year recipient.


Prior to Detroit Country Day, Kuehl spent six seasons with American University in Washington, DC. During her time in DC, Kuehl's teams dominated the classroom. Having eight All-Patriot League selections, two Patriot League all-tournament honorees, the 2013 rookie of the year, five consecutive IWLCA honor squad recognitions, alongside the 2013 Merit Squad for holding one of the top three GPAs amongst women's lacrosse teams in Division One. More accolades followed with five Academic All-Patriot League honors, 93 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections, and 24 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll selections.


Kuehl was recognized for her excellence at American University with the 2013 Coaching Excellence Award from the American University Athletic Department. Prior to taking over as the head coach at American, Kuehl spent time as an assistant coach for Cal-Berkley women's lacrosse.


Kuehl is a graduate of John Hopkins University playing three years on the Women's Lacrosse team. Kuehl graduated from John Hopkins in 2007 with a degree in Political Science.
