Sarah Lawshe

Sarah Lawshe has been named the seventh women's lacrosse coach in program history ahead of the 2024 season.

"It's a great honor to be named the next head women's lacrosse coach at Kean", said Lawshe. "I would like to thank Athletic Director Kelly Williams for the opportunity to lead this program".

Lawshe takes over for B.J. Johnson, who was promoted to Managing Assistant Director of Recreation/External Affairs.

She arrives in Union from NJAC rival Montclair State University, where she has served as an assistant since 2021. During her time with the Red Hawks, she recruited 21 newcomers over the past two seasons, planned prospect clinics with local schools and club programs, designed team strength and conditioning workouts and managed the team's social media accounts.

Prior to Montclair, she was the head coach for the women's lacrosse program at Wilkes University from 2017-21. During her time with the Colonels, she doubled the team's win record and improved athlete recruiting and retention.

She is currently a group fitness coach at Alpha Fit Club in Wayne and the Director of Girls Lacrosse at the Evolution Lacrosse Academy.

Lawshe was a four year defender on the women's lacrosse team at Shippensburg University where she was captain her senior season.

She graduated with a bachelors in Public Relations and Communications from Shippensburg and a Master's in Education from Wilkes University in 2019.

"I had an immediate sense of belonging after stepping foot on campus. It's my goal to pursue excellence and find ways to be our best on and off the field. I look forward to working with the entire Cougar community to achieve those goals.

I have used the Soccer in College site for 8 years, and it has helped me keep my personal and soccer information up to date, and has helped be track college contacts and interest. I think the site helped me prepare for college offers, and helped me determine that I wanted to play for UNC.
