Alexis DiGiovanni is entering her seventh season as the head coach of the Indiana Tech women's lacrosse program heading into the 2025 season. DiGiovanni is the sixth head coach in program history and took over as head coach in the summer of 2018. She became Tech Women’s Lacrosse all-time wins leader on April 7th, 2024, in a 21-6 victory over Aquinas College.
During her time at Tech, DiGiovanni has coached 22 All-WHAC selections, 4 NAIA All-Americans, 35 WHAC All-Academic Team honorees, 29 NAIA Scholar-Athletes, 13 WHAC Player of the Week winners (six Offensive, seven Defensive), three NAIA National Player of the Week winners (one Offensive, two Defensive), one WHAC Offensive Player of the Year, one CoSIDA Academic All-America Team recipients, and two CoSIDA Academic All-District Team recipients.
Last season, DiGiovanni picked up her 48th win as Tech’s Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach to become the all-time wins leader in program history with a 21-6 win over Aquinas on April 7th, 2024. In 2024, she led the Warriors to a 13-5 overall record and a second-place finish in the WHAC with a 7-1 record. Tech would fall in the WHAC Championship to Lawrence Tech but would qualify for the NAIA National Championship for the first time in program history and first NAIA postseason appearance since making the NAIA National Invitational in 2019. The Warriors would earn the No. 5 seed at nationals, falling to No. 4 SCAD-Savannah in the quarterfinals. Faith Donally, Brooke Buhr, and Da’zah Regusters would be named NAIA All-Americans. Five Warriors would earn WHAC All-Conference honors, while six would be named WHAC All-Academic Team members, and four as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In 2023, the Warriors ended with a 10-5 overall record and went 6-3 in WHAC play, finishing fourth in the conference and falling in the conference tournament semifinal to WHAC regular season, tournament, and NAIA national champion Lawrence Tech University. Five Warriors would earn WHAC All-Conference honors, while eight would be named WHAC All-Academic Team members, and six as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In 2022, Tech went 8-6 overall, finishing in fourth in the WHAC standings at 6-3, and falling in the WHAC Tournament to Lawrence Tech. Three Warriors would make the WHAC All-Conference Teams, highlighted by Abby Barkdull who would earn WHAC Offensive Player of the Year and First-team honors, while also being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large team. Four Warriors would earn WHAC All-Academic team honors, and five would be named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In 2021, Tech went 5-5 overall, finishing in fifth in the WHAC standings at 4-3, and falling in the WHAC Tournament to Siena Heights. Four Warriors would make the WHAC All-Conference Teams, four would earn WHAC All-Academic team honors, and three would be named NAIA Scholar-Athletes. The Warriors would be recognized as an Academic Honor Squad by the IWLCA, while Abby Barkdull and Ellie Nelson were tabbed to the Academic Honor Roll.
Tech went 1-3 in the 2020 season before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the season. The Warriors had six student-athletes named to the WHAC All-Academic Team for their success in the classroom and seven NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
In 2019, the Warriors captured the WHAC regular season and tournament championships while going 14-3 and qualifying for the NAIA National Invitational for the fourth consecutive season. She had eight student-athletes named to the WHAC All-Academic Team, five garner All-Conference accolades, four listed as NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and five players garner WHAC Player of the Week honors (two Offensive, three Defensive), with two winning the NAIA National Award (one Offensive, one Defensive). Jennifer Banks was named a First-Team NAIA All-American and was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-American At-Large teams. The Warriors were recognized as an Academic Honor Squad by the IWLCA, while Jennifer Banks, Sabrina Foest, Charlie Jones, McKenna Mesclier, and Abigail Spencer were tabbed to the Academic Honor Roll.
DiGiovanni returns to the sidelines of her alma matter after spending the 2016 season as an assistant coach for Tech, helping the Warriors go 14-4 and capturing the regular season Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championship while making to the quarterfinals in the inaugural NAIA National Invitational and the final National Women's Lacrosse League (NWLL) National Tournament.
The Chicago Heights, Illinois native served as team captain during her junior and senior seasons and helped the Orange and Black qualify for the National Women's Lacrosse League (NWLL) National Tournament every year she played. She tallied 109 goals and 82 assists during her playing career and led the Warriors to two WHAC Championships and one WHAC Tournament title.
She previously worked at the YMCA in Fort Wayne, serving as a School Age Child Care Coordinator and the Program Director of Childcare Services, and worked as an assistant coach at Homestead High School for two seasons. DiGiovanni graduated from Indiana Tech in 2015 with a degree in Business Administration – Management, and a minor in Graphic Design. She currently lives in Fort Wayne.
