Dragon Head Women’s Soccer Coach, Kate Seagroves has an extensive and stellar soccer career. Seagroves went to North Carolina Wesleyan where she earned her undergraduate B.S. degree in Education. On the field she was a four year starter and two year captain for the Battling Bishops. After coaching at her alma mater for a year she went on to Middle Tennessee State University where she earned her graduate degree in Physical Education Health & Recreation while coaching the Blue Raiders in their first two seasons.
Since her arrival on the Howard Community College campus in the fall of 1999 she has elevated women’s soccer in the region and national level. While at the helm of the Dragon Women’s Soccer Program, Coach Seagroves was named NJCAA and NSCAA coach of the year twice (2003, 2010). She has led the Dragon’s to four NJCAA National tournaments (2003, 2007, 2010, and 2013) finishing third in the nation each time.
Her teams have won five regional titles, three district titles, and one JUCO Conference Co-Championship. She has developed 13 NJCAA All-Americans and four NSCAA All-Americans. Coach Seagroves, although a competitive coach, still continues to put the fun and joy into the sport for her players. Kate resides in Catonsville with her family.
