Cassley Jackowski

Cassley Jackowski took the reins of the Houghton women's lacrosse program in June 2017. She is the third head coach in the history of the program.

Jackowski comes to Houghton after a stellar four-year career as a player at Roberts Wesleyan College. Jackowski played in 65 games as a Redhawk, producing a program-record 242 goals and 329 points, while adding 87 assists, 132 draw controls and 102 groundballs. She capped her impressive career by leading NCAA Division II in goals (83), goals per game (4.61), points (118) and points per game (6.56) this spring.

Following her final campaign, she was named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-American Third Team for NCAA Division II. She also earned IWLCA All-Region Second Team honors for the North Region and was named to the 2017 Senior All-Star Team for Division II. A two-year captain, Jackowski was an all-ECC selection in each of her four seasons, including three first-team honors, and was the conference rookie of the year in 2014.

"We are very excited about having someone of Coach Jackowski's caliber on our staff. She has played at a high level, is very connected in the lacrosse hotbeds, and models all that we stand for here at Houghton," said Lord. "We have no doubt that she is the ideal person to build on the foundation laid by her predecessor and lead us on to the next level."

Jackowski, who holds a bachelor's degree in physical education with a minor in coaching, was named the New York State AHPERD Departmental Major of the Year in 2016.

She has served as an assistant coach for the FCA modified team for the past two seasons and has been a huddle leader in FCA's Gettysburg Lacrosse Camp. She has also been active as a lacrosse official, holding certifications from US Lacrosse as well as the Rochester and Syracuse official's associations.

"I am very excited to be a part of the Houghton College women's lacrosse program," said Jackowski. "I am looking forward to building and growing the program so that it may soar. This is a unique opportunity where I not only can share my knowledge and passion for lacrosse, but my faith as well. Houghton feels like a place where I can have an immediate impact in a close-knit environment."

A native of Lafayette, N.Y., Jackowski was a two-time Under Armour High School All-America selection and was named to the Brine National All-American Upstate New York team after tallying 343 goals (8th all-time in New York State) and 481 points (5th all-time) in her career. She played for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes' National High School team in 2012 and the FCA Women's National Lacrosse Team in 2014 and 2015.
