Brandon Allwood

Brandon Allwood enters his eighth season as the Hanover women’s lacrosse coach during the 2023-24 academic year.

Allwood’s first campaign with the Panthers was a successful one, as he led the team to its best overall record in the program’s three-year history at 9-8. Hanover also appeared in the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference Tournament, another first for the program in 2017.

For his efforts, Allwood was named the ORLC Coach of the Year. A pair of Panthers in Mallory Fogus and Abby Shroyer also earned first team all-conference accolades in Allwood’s first season with the College.

Following a record-setting first year, Allwood's Panthers achieved higher laurels in 2018. Hanover finished 11-7 overall and 8-3 in conference play, both of which were new program highs. The Blue and Red once again appeared in the conference tournament semifinals in 2018.

The 2019 campaign saw Allwood elevate the program once again as the Blue and Red made their first HCLC Tournament Championship appearance. The Panthers posted an 8-9 overall mark with a 4-2 HCLC record. With the trip to the finals, Allwood landed six all-conference selections including four First Team honorees.

After surrendering the 2020 season to Covid-19, the Panthers came out dominate in the spring of 2021 posting a 4-5 overall mark, with a 2-1 HCLC record. They advanced to their second consecutive HCLC tournament championship. For their success, Brandon landed seven on the HCLC all-conference list including two First Team selections.

The success carried into the 2022 campaign as they finished 10-7 overall and 5-1 in HCLC play advancing to their second consecutive Tournament Championship. With the strong display of success, Allwood landed six HCAC All-Conference selections.

In 2023, Allwood led the Panthers to the HCLC Tournament for the sixth straight year in a row. For their efforts he landed four all-HCLC selections including two first team honorees.

Overally, through seven seasons at HC, Allwood has directed the newly-minted program to a 47-49 record, including a 27-13 mark in conference action. The women's lacrosse program has also received 30 all-conference awards since Allwood's arrival.

Allwood, a native of New Buffalo, Mich., has spent the past two seasons at his alma mater Albion (Mich.), where he was an assistant coach and the goalkeeper coach. Over the past two years, the Britons have posted a 25-10 overall record, as well as a 15-1 mark in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Albion recorded one regular season and one MIAA postseason tournament championship during Allwood’s stint with team, as he helped guide the Britons to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015.

In two season’s Allwood helped coach 14 all-MIAA selections, four all-region choices, two MIAA Offensive and one Defensive Player of the Year winners.

Prior to joining Albion’s staff, Allwood spent the 2014 season as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the boy’s lacrosse team at Harper Creek High School in Michigan. In the program’s second year of existence, Allwood assisted in guiding the team to a 6-6 record, a program best at the time.

A four-year letter winner on defense for the men’s lacrosse team at Albion, Allwood graduated with a degree in History and English with an emphasis on Secondary Education in 2013. Allwood was also a part of the Fritz Shurmur Center for Teacher Development and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

This site helped me establish communications with several colleges. The ability to contact colleges that interested me and research information about them was very helpful.
