Erik Ingram

The Geneva College Athletic Department is excited to announce the hiring of Erik Ingram to be the first women's lacrosse head coach at Geneva after the college announced the beginning of the program in May. He will be tasked with building the program from scratch and will be focused on recruiting the initial class that will help prepare the program to begin competition in the Presidents' Athletic Conference in the spring of 2025.

Ingram comes to Geneva after an extensive history at Fox Chapel High School, both with the girls lacrosse program and the boys soccer team. He has been the girls lacrosse assistant head coach for the past six seasons, helping guide Fox Chapel to the playoffs all six seasons. He's also been an Assessor for USA Lacrosse with their National High School Program. Ingram holds Level 1 Certification and is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.

Ingram has had an even longer successful run on the soccer side, serving as head coach for the Fox Chapel boys program since 2006, amassing over 200 career wins while qualifying for the playoffs every season since he started. He twice guided the program to the WPIAL finals.

"I want to thank Van Zanic, President Troup and the entire search committee for entrusting me as the program's first women's lacrosse head coach at Geneva," says Ingram. "Building a program from the ground up is very exciting to me, and I've found the other coaches to be very welcoming, as well as passionate about athletics and their student-athletes."

Prior to his time at Fox Chapel, Ingram was the Head Women's Soccer Coach for the Steel City Sparks, a women's semi-professional team. He also served as the assistant women's soccer coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 1997 to 2003, where Ingram helped build a foundation during the first years of the program.

"We are very excited to welcome Erik to the Geneva College family," says Director of Athletics Van Zanic. "Our search committee was unanimous in the decision to bring Erik to Geneva as the college's first women's lacrosse head coach. He has experience in launching a new college program and his clear desire to develop a competitive program very quickly is exciting for everyone within our department."
