Ashley Travis

Ashley Travis enters her fifth season as head coach of the Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse program in 2024.


Travis holds a 15-29 overall record at the helm and a 14-19 mark in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play while advancing to the conference tournament in 2021 and 2022.


In 2023, the Skyhawks were 3-10 overall and 5-7 in RMAC play. The team earned its first win of the season on April 7 against CSU Pueblo (17-9). Senior Rebecca Kiyokawa and junior Haley Dostie were named Second Team All-RMAC while the trio of freshman Samantha Rodgers and seniors Averi Basso and Makena Carter earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team. Basso and Kiyokawa were also named First Team All-Academic while eight additional players picked up Academic Honor Roll nods. Junior Caprietta Abbadessa, sophomore Mikki Brown, Basso, and Kiyokawa were each selected to the CSC Academic All-District team.


In the 2022 season, Fort Lewis earned a key 15-14 win over CSU Pueblo to close out the regular-season and send the team to the RMAC Tournament. Averi Basso was named RMAC Co-Goalie of the Year along with First Team nods Rebecca Kiyokawa earned a spot on the Second Team and Haley Dostie rounded out postseason honors with an Honorable Mention selections.


Ashley Travis was hired as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach in August of 2019, becoming the fifth head coach in program history.


Travis comes to Durango after spending three seasons at Heidelberg University, a NCAA Division III program in the Ohio Athletic Conference. She served two years as the head coach (2018-19) and one year as the team's graduate assistant during the program's inaugural season in 2017.


She posted a head coaching record of 14-18 overall with the Student Princes, highlighted by the young program's best finish of 8-9 overall in 2018-19.


Prior to her time at Heidelberg University, Travis was a lacrosse student-athlete at the University of New Haven where she helped the Chargers to top-10 NCAA Division II national rankings in each of her four years (2012-15).


A native of LaFayette, New York, Travis played in 59 career games as an attacker. She scored 30 goals, and finished with 32 career points, while twice being named to the Northeast 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.


Travis received her bachelor's degree in Arts Psychology in 2015 from the University of New Haven and earned her master's degree in Educational Leadership from Heidelberg University in 2018.
