Tommy Kelly is in his second season and first full year as the Head Coach for the Women’s Lacrosse program, after taking over the position in January of 2018.
In his first season, Kelly guided the Senators to a school record three wins, as well as the program's first conference wins (2).
Kelly came to Elkins after serving on the coaching staff at Slippery Rock University for five seasons, including the two seasons as the primary Assistant Coach.
Prior to his role as the Assistant Coach, Kelly spent three seasons as a Graduate Assistant on the staff.
Kelly helped guide the team to three-straight winning seasons, going 12-6 in 2017, with 9-8 marks in 2016 and 2015. He helped guide the team to a total of 14 wins during the two years before that.
During his time in Slippery Rock, Kelly worked primarily with the defense and was the key facilitator of practice and game preparation, while also working heavily in recruiting.
Kelly moved over to the Women’s Lacrosse program at The Rock after wrapping up a four-year career on the hardwood for the Slippery Rock Men’s Basketball team.
During his basketball career at Slippery Rock, Kelly appeared in 89 games. He scored 344 career points and helped SRU to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 20 years when he averaged 4.4 points per game during the 2010-11 season. He was a part of the winningest senior class in school history for the Men’s Basketball program.
Kelly earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Slippery Rock University in May of 2012, earning a degree in Safety Management. He earned his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Slippery Rock in May of 2015.
Kelly currently resides in Elkins.
