Lauren Simko

AT ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

The 2024 season found Simko guiding Ashland to a 11-8 overall record and 5-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. She was named conference co-Coach of the Year, and led the Eagles to their first conference tournament victory.

Simko's second season as head coach saw the program's first .500 season (9-9) and first better-than-.500 season in conference play (5-3). The Eagles made the Great Midwest Tournament for the second year in a row.

In her first season leading the program, Simko led Ashland to a 6-11 overall record, a 5-5 mark in the Great Midwest, and the Great Midwest Tournament in the first season in the league. Junior Cassady Becker was named the Great Midwest Attacker of the Year.

BEFORE ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

Simko came to Ashland with seven years of head coaching experience having spent the previous two seasons as the women’s lacrosse head coach at fellow GMAC member Ursuline College. She was named the 2021 GMAC Coach of the Year.

Prior to her time at Ursuline, Simko was the head coach for three seasons at the University of Findlay where she guided the Oilers to the 2019 GMAC championship. In total, Simko led the Oilers to 32 wins in three seasons, including a 15-4 mark in 2018.

She coached 13 All-GMAC selections while at Findlay and put four players on the all-region teams.

Simko also has head coaching experience at the University of Dallas and Cornell College.

She got her start in collegiate coaching as a graduate assistant at Lake Erie College, where she earned her master’s in business administration.

PERSONAL

Simko is a 2011 graduate of Lees-McRae (N.C.) College, where she played lacrosse for four years.

Molly Grant

AT ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

Grant is in her first year serving as the graduate assistant coach for Ashland University's women's lacrosse program.

BEFORE ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

Was a midfielder on McKendree's women's lacrosse team.

Playing in 60 career games (59 starts), recorded two goals, one assist and 60 ground balls.

Also has been a youth lacrosse coach.
