Sam Hosford

Sam Hosford was hired as the head women's lacrosse coach in November 2017.

During her first season in Glenside, Hosford led the Knights to back to the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament for the first time since 2015 as the number four seed. Under her guidance, Shannon Ryan was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year and Arcadia's second-ever IWLCA All-Region selection. She coached three players to all-conference selections in 2018.

In the classroom, her inaugural team was named an IWLCA Academic Squad, with two student-athletes being named to the IWLCA Honor Roll.

Hosford comes to Arcadia from Western Connecticut State University where she spent time as an assistant coach since August 2017. While coaching for the Colonials, Hosford was responsible for the oversight of all academics for her student-athletes. She also was active in all aspects of recruiting for the program.

Prior to her time at Western Connecticut State, Hosford was a graduate assistant for one year at her alma mater, East Stroudsburg University, where she was a four-year letter winning defender for the Warriors. In addition to her time on the lacrosse team, Hosford also spent four seasons on the field hockey team, where she was a member of the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship team.

During her time as a graduate assistant, the dual-sport athlete coached and instructed multiple clinics at ESU.

Hosford earned her bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg in May 2016 and her master’s degree in sports management from ESU in December 2017
