Lauren Chizmar

Lauren Chizmar enters her ninth season as the Head Coach of the Seahawks Women’s Lacrosse team. Chizmar led Keiser to the programs first-ever NAIA National Championship in 2021 with a perfect 16-0 record. She was named the first coach at KU in May of 2016.

2024

Led the Seahawks to an 11-8 overall record and a sixth consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance

Keiser went 4-2 in Sun Conference play and secured a tie for second place in the regular season

Led the NAIA with a program record 321 caused turnovers

Netted eight All-Conference players and two NAIA All-Americans

Off the field, Keiser received 10 Academic All-Conference awards and 10 NAIA Scholar Athlete awards


2023

Posted a 16-2 overall record with a perfect 14-0 regular season for the second time in program history

The Seahawks were 6-0 in the inaugural year of the Sun Conference and earned the Sun Conference Regular Season Championship

Keiser advanced all the way to the NAIA Semifinals for the third time in program history

Coached six All-Sun Conference players including one first team member

Guided Rebecca Gibson and Talia Myers to NAIA All-America honors

Off the field, Keiser received four Academic All-Conference awards and two NAIA Scholar Athlete awards


2022

Led Keiser to it's third Mid-South Regular Season Championship and second Tournament Championship

The Seahawks finished the season with a 15-4 overall record and 6-0 in conference play

Coached the Seahawks to their third consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance

Collected eight All-Conference awards and three NAIA All-American honors

In the classroom, the Seahawks earned 10 Academic All-Conference honors


2021

Guided Keiser to their first-ever NAIA National Championship, defeating No. 2 Cumberlands, 13-11

Coached KU to the Mid-South Regular Season Championship and Tournament Championship

Led the Seahawks to their first-ever perfect season with a 16-0 overall record and 6-0 conference mark

Went 8-0 against teams ranked inside the NAIA Coaches Poll

Aided in KU reaching their highest ranking in program history of No. 1

The Seahawks were 4-2 overall when the season was cancelled on 3/16/20 due to CoVID 19 Virus

Off the field, Keiser had 12 Academic All-Conference honorees


2019

Led the Seahawks to a 14-5 overall record and their second straight appearance in the NAIA National Tournament

Keiser went 4-1 during the inaugural year of the Mid-South conference and earned a share of the Regular Season Championship

The Seahawks won their first national tournament game in the quarterfinals against No. 5 Marian, 18-9.

Helped KU to their highest ranking of No. 3 on April 9

Netted seven All-Conference players and three NAIA All-Americans

Off the field, Keiser received six Academic All-Conference awards and two NAIA Scholar Athlete awards


2018

Named the NAIA National Coach of the Year after advancing to their first national tournament

Coached Keiser to a 12-5 overall record and a spot in the NAIA National Tournament

Led the squad to their first home victory on March, 5, 2018, against Barton by a final of 16-9

Broke into the NAIA Coaches poll for the first time in program history on Feb. 27 with a ranking of No. 9 and climbed as high as fourth

Aided in eight players earning All-Conference honors including five on the First Team

Coached two players to the NAIA All-American team


2017

Coached five players to All-Conference awards including one to the NAIA All-American squad

Led the inaugural team to a 1-13 record with a roster of 18 players

The Seahawks led the nation in saves per game with 11.71. Mary Reich was fifth in the country with 10.14 saves per game

Keiser was fourth in the NAIA in total saves with 164, while Reich was seventh with 142


Pre-Keiser

Prior to Keiser, Chizmar spent three seasons as the Assistant Coach at Florida Southern College. In her three years as an assistant, she helped lead Florida Southern to their first NCAA Division II National Championship in 2016. She also aided in winning two SSC Regular Season Championships and one Tournament Championship.


Playing Career

Chizmar played one season at Lock Haven University and was a member of the school's 2009 NCAA Division II finalist women's lacrosse team.


After playing one year at Lock Haven, Chizmar transferred to St. Mary's College of Maryland, where she was a three-year member of the women's lacrosse team and a two-year member of the field hockey program.


During her three seasons at St. Mary's, Chizmar amassed 55 goals and 15 assists for a total of 70 points and netted multiple game-winning goals, all while taking the majority of the draws as the squad's draw specialist. In field hockey, she was a defender and earned the Seahawk Spirit Award in both 2010 and 2011.


Personal

Chizmar earned her Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2012 and also earned a minor in Religion while at St. Mary's College. She received her Master's degree cum laude in College Athletic Administration from Coker College in Hartsville, S.C., in December of 2014.

Alexis Martinez

Martinez enters her second season as the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

Pre-Keiser

Martinez comes from Wellington Community High School where she was the Assistant Varsity Coach. In her two years with the program, the Wolverines have a combined 19-16 record including two appearances in the FHSAA Girls Lacrosse State Championship Tournament.


Playing Career

Martinez was five-year member of the women’s lacrosse team at Keiser from the inaugural season in 2017-2021. In that time, serving as a two-year captain, she tallied 25 groundballs, 17 caused turnovers, three goals and an assist. In her final season with the Seahawks, Martinez helped the Seahawks to an NAIA National Championship as a starter against Cumberlands.


Personal

Martinez earned her Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration from Keiser University in 2021.
