Madison Heck

Heck joins Virginia Wesleyan as the new head women's lacrosse coach in June 2023. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Georgian Court University and pursued further education at East Stroudsburg University, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Management and Leadership.


Heck, an accomplished athlete, excelled during her time at Georgian Court University. She was honored as a four-time All-Conference recipient and a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection. Her contributions were instrumental in leading her team to victory, securing the CACC Tournament Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2021. In 2021, she was recognized as the Tournament MVP. Additionally, her exceptional performance earned her the title of IWLCA First-Team All-Region in the same year.


After her successful stint at Georgian Court, Heck continued her athletic journey at East Stroudsburg University. She played a pivotal role in leading her team to become PSAC Champions and Atlantic Region Champions. Her exceptional skills were acknowledged with a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament team.


Before joining Virginia Wesleyan, she coached at Barnegat High School, where she played a pivotal role in securing the team's third consecutive conference championship. Additionally, Heck served as the head coach at 3-point Lacrosse Club, and during the summer of 2019, she successfully coached the T-3 Lacrosse Club.

Catherine Duffy

Cathrine Duffy joined the VWU Women's Lacrosse coaching staff in the fall of 2021.


During the 2022 season, Duffy helped the Marlins to a 8-9 record and a 4-3 ODAC mark. The Marlins advanced to the ODAC Championship tournament facing Lynchburg in the quarterfinals. Under her guidance, Helen Kennedy-Butler, Natalie Dunn, and Michaela Elston all recorded 20+ goals during the season.
