Jenna Agostino

Jenna Agostino begins her third season as head coach of the Tusculum women's lacrosse program in the spring of 2024.


The Centereach, New York native took over the reins of the TU program in January, 2022 after spending the previous two seasons on the coaching staff at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.


The 2023 Pioneers improved three games from the 2022 season, including four conference victories for the first time since 2018. Tusculum's seven wins were its most since the 2017 season, and the Pioneers had two All-SAC players for the first time since 2019 in attacker Tia Daniel and midfielder Lucy Brewer.


Despite taking over a month before the start of the 2022 season, Agostino led the Pioneers to four wins in her debut campaign. The 2022 Pioneers led the SAC in shooting accuracy (82.4 percent) and reached double figures in scoring eight times.


The Tigers went 4-2 during her inaugural season before the year was cut short due to COVID. The 2021 campaign saw DePauw finish with a 6-4 overall mark including 4-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference divisional play with head coach Anne Moelk, who was named the NCAC Coach of the Year.


The 2021 DePauw club had four players garner All-NCAC honors including Grace Clark, who was tabbed to the IWCLA All-Great Lakes Region Team. The Tigers also has midfielder Emma Kennedy who was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America third team.


From 2019-2021, Agostino served as the head club coach for Indy United. She was also the head coach of the 91 Lacrosse Club Team (2012-2016) and the Express Club Team (2011-2012).


Agostino is the founder and owner of Empowered Lax LLC, which focused primarily on individual and small group development for all age groups.


She played collegiately at Stony Brook University from 2012-2015 where she helped Seawolves to three America East Conference championships and three trips to the NCAA Division I Tournament. She played in 53 career games on defense where she amassed 73 ground balls and caused 46 turnovers. During her career, the Seawolves posted an impressive 66-14 overall record including 21-2 in America East play.


In her 2012 rookie campaign, SBU posted a 14-5 record, a 12-win improvement from the season before. The Seawolves went 17-3 overall and went undefeated (6-0) in America East action to win the league crown and advanced to the NCAA second round. In 2014, Stony Brook boasted the nation's No. 1 defense while going 17-4 (4-1 AEC). During Agostino's senior season in 2015, the Seawolves logged an 18-2 overall mark and went undefeated again in league play (6-0) and advanced to the NCAA second round for a third straight season.


During her prep career at Centereach High School, she was a two-sport standout in lacrosse and basketball. She was and All-District, All-County and All-Tournament honoree in lacrosse while garnering All-Conference laurels on the basketball hardwood.


She graduated from Stony Brook in 2015 with her bachelor's degree while majoring in business management with a marketing focus.

Rodney Tapp

Rodney Tapp begins his third season as Tusculum University head men's lacrosse coach in the spring of 2024.


In his first season, the Pioneers finished with a 9-7 record and averaged nearly 14 goals per game, while leading Division II in man-up offense at 60.8 percent. The Pioneers followed up with a 4-11 record in 2023 and led the SAC in shots per game at 30.6.


Tapp came to Tusculum in the fall of 2021 after serving as assistant coach at Newberry College during the 2021 season, where he helped the Wolves rank fifth in Division II in man-down defense, eighth in ground balls per game, 13th in clears and 24th in faceoffs.


Before Newberry, Tapp was an assistant coach at Ohio Wesleyan University for three years from 2018 to 2020. At Ohio Wesleyan, Tapp helped the Battling Bishops rank 11th in Division III in scoring offense during the 2019 season.


A native of St. Catharines, Ontario, Tapp brings a wealth of playing experience to Tusculum. He played 10 seasons of professional indoor lacrosse from 1995 to 2004, scoring 26 goals and 83 assists for 109 points in 95 career games for Boston, Syracuse, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington, Rochester, Columbus and Arizona. During his NLL career, Tapp was an All-Star Game participant in both 1999 and 2003.


Tapp is noted in lacrosse circles for his faceoff ability in both the indoor and outdoor game, having won 55.6 percent of more than 3,100 draws during his professional career. He retired from the NLL as the league's all-time leader in face-off wins.


Following his playing career, Tapp started coaching at Owen Sound District Secondary School in 2006 and has coached both indoor and outdoor at the select, junior, midget and bantam levels. His Team Ontario midget squad was silver medalist at the 2017 Canadian Nationals.


Tapp played collegiately at Whittier College from 1986 to 1988 and was a two-time All-WCLL selection. He earned an associates degree in physical education from Douglas College in New Westminster, B.C. and has 180 credits toward a bachelors degree at Pacific Lutheran University.


Tapp played for Team Canada from 1994 to 2002 and was a member of the silver medalist squad at the 1998 World Games. Tapp's senior teams won three Mann Cup Championships in the 1990s and he was inducted to the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a member of the 2008 Six Nation Chiefs and the 2011 Victoria Seaspray. Tapp was also a three-time OLA Senior B Champion from 2002-2004.


Off the field, Tapp was the NLL player representative for the Professional Lacrosse Players Association in 2003-04, and was Player Compensation chair from 1999 to 2004. Tapp has also earned strength and conditioning coach certification from the Fitness Resource Association and the International Fitness Professional Association.
