Kate Athing

Head coach Kate Athing enters her ninth season at the helm of the Marymount women's lacrosse program in 2023, while being a part of the Saints program since 2010. Prior to her role as the head coach, she served as the assistant for four seasons. She is the sixth head coach in program history.


As the Saints head coach, Athing has coached 12 All-Atlantic East Conference and eight All-Capital Athletic Conference award winners, including two three-time All-CAC second-team selections in Abby Wescott and Liah Agouras. In 2022, Athing coached both the Atlantic East Rookie of the Year and Atlantic East Defensive Players of the Year in Taylor Chepren and Caitlyn Dunn. Dunn’s award was the first of its kind for the program. Caitlyn Dunn and Sarah Agrillo were named to the IWLCA Senior All-Star Roster after the 2022 season under Athing's leadership. Rounding out major award winners in 2022, Emily Peters earned the Atlantic East Conference Medal of Inspiration which was the second winner under Athing's guidance.


As a team under Athing's leadership off the field, the 2022 Saints women's lacrosse team garnered the IWLCA Community Awareness Award after being heavily involved in various community outreach programs during the academic year. This award is given to one team in each division who has the most impact on their campus and community through their service to others. This award was another first of its kind for the program.


The 2021 season was a banner campaign for MU, as Athing guided the program to its first-ever conference title game. Marymount romped through its schedule with a 7-3 overall record and a 5-1 mark in Atlantic East play. After they earned a bye in the opening round of the Atlantic East Tournament, the Saints dispatched Marywood University, 16-8, to reach the championship.


Athing coached Sarah Agrillo, Emily Peters, and Madison Noble to the All-Conference First Team, while Riley Love and Sydney Clifford landed on the Second Team. Athing's leadership resulted in herself, and her staff being named the Atlantic East Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.


The Saints were off to a stellar start in 2020 prior to the season being shuddered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as Athing guided the team to an undefeated mark of 7-0.


Under Athing's watch, Maegan Gagnon became the second Marymount student-athlete to earn the Atlantic East Medal of Inspiration.


In 2019, Athing guided the program through the first year of the Atlantic East Conference, finishing the season 13-8 (4-2 Atlantic East), tying the program record for wins in a season. The team earned a berth into the Atlantic East tournament and a fourth-straight trip to the ECAC championship tournament. The team advanced to the semifinal round in both tournaments, giving the Saints their fourth-straight appearance in the ECAC semifinals. She coached Jessica Crew and Bridgette Stacom to first-team All-Atlantic East selections, while Holly Reik and Caroline Wolford were named to the second team.


In 2018, Athing led the Saints to an appearance in the CAC tournament, along with a trip back to the ECAC semifinals. The team finished the year with a 10-10 record, marking the third-straight season with double-digit wins.


The 2017 season finished with the Saints claiming the ECAC Division III Championship, with an 11-3 win over Misericordia University on May 14 for the program's first ECAC Championship. Marymount posted a 13-6 record on the year, marking the most single season wins in program history.


The Saints concluded a program-setting 2016 campaign with a 10-9 record and made an appearance in the CAC playoffs. For the first time in school history, the squad earned a bid to the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship and played into the second round. Athing had a trio of Saints earn All-Conference honors and helped lead the team to its first over .500 season since 2003. A part of their win total raised a new program record, sporting a seven-game win streak that spanned over three weeks.


Athing joined the Saints staff after a four-year playing career at Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania. A four-year starter for the Crimson Hawks, Athing was named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference team as a senior captain in 2010. She garnered Defensive Player of the Season accolades as a junior and senior and was also selected to the IWLCA Senior All-Star Team. A standout in the classroom as well, Athing earned PSAC Scholar-Athlete Recognition all four years with the Crimson Hawks.


Athing graduated from IUP in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She completed her masters of education in English as a second language instruction at Marymount in 2012. During her time in the graduate program, she served as the education department’s graduate assistant.


Athing is currently a part of the Presidential Leadership Program, "A first-of-its-kind program at the institution which aims to further develop the leadership skills of manager-level employees." Athing was selected to participate in the inaugural class for the program and in addition to leadership training she will present her capstone project to university leadership this spring.

Rachel Crawford

Rachel Crawford enters her fourth year on the sidelines with MU women's lacrosse as an assistant coach under head coach Kate Athing.


She spent two seasons as the graduate assistant coach for the Marymount program before moving into the title of assistant prior to the 2022 season.


Crawford spent her playing days at The University of Tampa, where she played in 65 games, starting 56, including starting 18 games, each, in her junior and senior seasons.


She set career highs with 62 points, 37 assists, 25 goals, 21 ground balls, and 12 caused turnovers as a junior. Crawford earned a spot on the All-Sunshine State Conference first team as a junior, while also being named to the All-SSC second team in her senior season.


Crawford finished her career with 171 points, 97 assists, and 74 goals.


Crawford had prior coaching experience before coming to Marymount, working with the Integrity Lacrosse Club from 2016-2019 and the East Tampa Lacrosse Club in 2018.

Jon Reynolds

Jon Reynolds enters his 18th season as the head men’s lacrosse coach at Marymount in 2023.


The 2022 campaign saw Marymount reach a conference championship for the first time in program history as the Saints finished as the Atlantic East runner-up. The Saints finished 9-9 and set new program records for goals (235), assists (152), and points (387).


Four Saints were named All-Conference in 2022 with two being named First Team honorees. Additionally, Sebastian Radovic earned the prestigious Atlantic East Elite 20 award. The 2022 season also marked the end of an illustrious career for Clark Akers as he finished as the program’s all-time leader in points (220), goals (148), and assists (72).


In 2021, Reynolds led the Saints to the Atlantic East semifinals for the second season in a row and finished with a 5-4 mark in the condensed campaign.


In one of the toughest leagues in the country, Reynolds guided the Saints to two Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) tournament appearances in 2008 and 2012. During the 2008 season, Reynolds coached the Saints to a 13-8 upset win over No. 18 Hampden-Sydney, a win that still stands as his most notable victory yet.


In 2014, Marymount finished with a 9-8 record and earned an ECAC postseason berth. The Saints upset Marywood 13-4 in the first round, a victory that made Reynolds the winningest coach in program history.


A four-year player for Marymount from 1997-00, Reynolds returned to his alma mater after five seasons as the head coach of nearby Yorktown High School. With the Patriots, he posted a .667 winning percentage and made the regional playoffs each season. Reynolds was tabbed District and Regional Coach of the Year in 2002.


As a player for the Saints, Reynolds captained the 2000 squad that posted the program’s best record at 12-6 (4-2 CAC) and advanced to the semifinals of the CAC tournament. He spent the 2001 season as an assistant coach with Marymount where he helped guide the Saints to an 11-7 (4-2 CAC) record and another CAC semifinals appearance.


Reynolds has also been a successful head coach at the international level, leading the USA AIST squad to a 27-3 (.900) mark to go along with two international titles, including the 2014 Open Division Championship at the Lowlands tournament in Amsterdam. In 2018, his squad won the Open Division at the Tilburg Cup in the Netherlands. He led two AIST teams to 5-1 records and reached the championship game in Prague in 2012 and in Berlin in 2016.


Entering the 2023 campaign, Reynolds has 88 career victories at Marymount.

Matt Brigham

Brigham is entering his fourth season as an Assistant Coach with the men's lacrosse team and his third as the Offensive Coordinator for the 2022 season.


Brigham continued to evolve Marymount's offense during the 2021 season, which resulted in a run to the Atlantic East semifinals. MU potted 139 goals during the campaign, which was second in the conference behind only nationally-ranked Cabrini University. He helped mentor rookie attacker Jack Williams to a 50-point debut season, which is tied for 10th in single-season program history. Brigham also helped Clark Akers break the 100-goal plateau during the season.


The 2020 season, due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, was cut short after just seven games. Coming off a 2019 season that they made an appearance in the Atlantic East semifinals, the Saints opened the 2020 slate as No. 3 in the league's preseason poll. Unfortunately, the season didn't see any conference competition.


Brigham was with the Saints, in 2019, as a volunteer assistant coach, helping lead the team through its first season in the Atlantic East Conference. Primarily working with the offense, he helped the team post a 10.11 goals-per-game average, which improved to 12 goals per game in conference play.


Under his tutelage, attackman Clark Akers set the program records with 49 goals and 79 points on the year, while being named second-team All-Atlantic East.


Brigham brings a wealth of knowledge to the Saints, also serving as the Director of Lacrosse at Camp Laurel in Maine, leading a camp of over 500 lacrosse players. He also was the head coach for the Brighton Bombers U15 lacrosse team and as a coach for the East Coast Wizards for players from U9 to high school levels.


On top of his coaching experience, he also led a international playing career, following a four-year career at Bentley University from 2012-2016. At Bentley, Brigham was named to the New England-10 All-Rookie team and the All-New England Preseason team.


Following his undergraduate degree, he attended Durham University in the United Kingdom for graduate school and to continue playing from 2016-17. In 2017, he was a member of the BUCS National Championship team.


Over the summer, Brigham played in a semi-professional league with the Brighton Bombers Lacrosse Club in Adelaide, Australia, helping the team advance to the League Championship game.
