Matt Hunter
Coach
Matt Hunter is the current Head Coach at Barron Collier High School and the Director of Lacrosse Operations for Beast Lacrosse Club in Naples, Florida. Hunter has guided the Cougars to an impressive 55-9 (0.859%) record in the four years since taking over the leadership of the program. Hunter continues to build his program by teaching the fundamentals acquired playing at the highest levels of lacrosse nationally. His approach to Lacrosse makes him the perfect fit for the development of Beast Lacrosse Club.
Originally from Long Island, NY, Hunter was a two sport Varsity Athlete playing soccer and lacrosse at Wantagh High School. After a successful High School career, Hunter was recruited to play lacrosse at NCAA Division II power New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
As a starter at NYIT (2001-2003), the Bears posted a 37-4 (0.902%) record. During his tenure at NYIT, Hunter posted a school record 572 saves. NYIT also made the NCAA Division II Championship game twice while Hunter minded the nets. In 2002 NYIT went 14-1 losing only game to Limestone in the National Championship Title game. In 2004, anchored by USILA Goalie of the Year Hunter, NYIT went undefeated to become the NCAA Division II Champion in a rematch with Limestone winning 9-4, becoming the only undefeated lacrosse team in the nation that year.
After a stellar career at NYIT, Hunter was picked up in the player pool of the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) to play for the Bridgeport Barrage. Hunter played in the MLL from 2003-2006. In 2004 Hunter was a member of the Philadelphia Barrage Championship season.

Considered ny his peers to be an amazing offensive mind, his tactical prowess is unmatched. He has coached at various levels in New York, Connecticut and Long Island. He own a lacrosse store in Naples and Beast Lacrosse(R) is his Brand.
